Roe v. Wade: Part II

The Drudge Report. I am a loyal reader. Every morning, I have a cup of coffee and read through the morning headlines nicely collected by Matt Drudge from media outlets all over the world. On a typical morning, the headlines usually are directed at the economy, politicians, celebrities, and interesting tidbits from around the country. This morning, however, I noticed an interesting headline . . . "North Dakota House Passes Abortion Ban." The proposal gives a fertilized human egg the legal rights of a human being. Those rights would essentially ban abortion in the State of North Dakota.

We all knew this was coming, eventually. In fact, Representative Dan Ruby (R - Minot) laid out it straight for the public:

"This is the exact language that's required by Roe vs. Wade. It stipulated that before a challenge can be made, we have to identify when life begins, and that's what this does."

There you have it, folks. The North Dakota House of Representatives is directly violating Roe v. Wade. Of course, the bill still must pass the Senate. The North Dakota Senate consists of 47 members, 26 of which are Republican and 21 of which are Democrats. Good odds for passage.

Should it pass through the Senate, a challenge will most certainly be made. I only hope that after making its way through the lower courts that the Supreme Court of the United States will take the case on cert. I have a feeling the Court, as currently structured (subject to change thanks to Ruth Bader Ginsburg, John Paul Stevens & President Obama), would like to revisit Roe v. Wade.

Yesterday, I came across an interesting website . . . http://www.interfacelift.com/. Both of the pictures above are from the website and are actually wallpapers for your PC/Mac. The interesting thing is that the pictures are in HD. It's quite amazing the technology that is available today. Anyways, everyone should check it out. There are thousands, if not millions of very interesting photographs that can be used as artwork, if you are in to that kind of thing. The above are just two of a few I downloaded onto my computer.

Additionally, I've been listening to some new music on http://www.pandora.com/. Many of you are probably already aware of its features. I'm slow . . . I know. Regardless, it is a unique website if you enjoy a change of pace from your typical music selections. You simply type in the name of an artist or song and Pandora does the rest. It will take your selection and match it with similar songs and/or artists for tonality, phrasing, etc. If you have some time on your hands or enjoy listening to new artists, give it a shot.
